After our Christmas break, we’re thrilled to welcome you back as we dive into 2025. January is the perfect time to set new goals, embrace healthy habits, and make time for wellness—and we’re here to help! Vending Machines

We’ve installed three vending machines offering:

Hot Drinks: Café latte, cappuccino, espresso, hot chocolate, and tea for £1.00. Payment by card or phone.

Snacks & Cold Drinks:

• Drinks: From £0.50 (water) to £1.70 (large bottles).
• Snacks: Crisps £0.80, chocolate bars £1.00, and larger chocolate bags £1.50.
• Payment by card, phone, or cash.

Free Water Cooler: Stay hydrated with our free water cooler.

Discounted Swimwear

Check out the bargain bucket in reception for discounted swimwear! Stock includes women’s swimsuits, men’s and boys’ swim shorts, and swim caps—all at reduced prices.

Birtley Amateur Swimming Club is Back

Sessions are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00PM – 9:00PM.

Volunteers Needed

Whether you have a few spare hours or can commit to a regular schedule, your support will help us continue providing excellent services to the community.

Weekend Leisure Attendant positions

Join our team and play a key role in creating a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors.

Shifts Available:

• Fridays: 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM
• Saturdays: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM – 5:00 PM
• Sundays: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM or 12:30 PM – 5:00 PM

Pay: £11.66 – £11.85 per hour

Requirements: RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.

Floating Sound Baths

We’re excited to welcome Alex Wake from Good For The Soul Holistics for monthly Floating Sound Bath sessions!

• Held once a month on Sundays, this unique experience combines the calming effects of water with the soothing sounds of healing instruments.

Triathlon Coaching

Starting from 4th February, we will have DS Coaching in every Tuesday morning from 6:30am to 7:30am using two lanes for a triathlon coached swim club session. Whether you’re training for your first triathlon or are a seasoned competitor, this club is a great opportunity to train with like-minded individuals.

Soft Play

Soft play is now available for free in our spectator area!

Donations are welcome to help maintain this space.

More Public Swimming Opportunities

New Evening Sessions

In December, we introduced public swimming on Wednesday evenings with the following schedule:

• 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Family swimming in a double lane.
• 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Lane swimming with fast and medium lanes available.

Early Morning Swimming

Starting this year, the pool has been open for early morning swims on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6:15 AM. The full pool is available on Wednesdays and Thursdays, with designated fast, medium, and slow lanes, plus a section without lanes. Once the triathlon club starts, four lanes will be available on Tuesdays.

Additional Evening and Morning Lanes

From 20th January, there will be:

• Mondays 06:15 AM – 07:30AM: The full pool will be available, including slow, medium and fast lanes.
• Thursdays, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM &

Fridays, 6:15 AM – 7:30 AM: Fast and medium lanes available alongside the swimming club.

New Parking Measures

From February 6th, we’re introducing new parking measures at the pool. Customers can enjoy up to 4 hours of free parking, and there’s a 10-minute grace period for drop-offs. Members will benefit from free parking without needing to log their details each visit.
