Balancing the Timetable

As a charity-run pool, operated by Birtley Community Aquatic Centre (BCAC), we work hard to balance providing enough public swim time while also generating income from school and club bookings. Our trustees, representing different user groups (public swimmers, children, competitive swimmers), have developed a timetable that includes:

  • School & Public Swimming Lessons
  • Club Swimming
  • Plenty of opportunities for public swim, lane swimming, Aquafit, and weekend family sessions.

We believe this timetable reflects the diverse needs of our community while keeping the pool operational.

We continuously review our timetable based on customer feedback to ensure we provide the best possible mix of activities for our community while keeping the pool financially sustainable.
